CRAFTSMANSHIP

The perfect tone of madder red or indigo blue, the webbing of a chair, the complex technical challenges of combining of warp and weft yarns to convert ideas into jacquard weaves , the flick of a paint brush to capture the lines of an Ottoman tulip, the deftness required to make a perfect lampshade or embroider a pillowcase.
Technical skills and visual judgement underpin everything that Susan Deliss sells. The knowledge of where to start and when to stop, where to make an adjustment, are characteristic of everyone Susan works with and central to the traditions that she is passionately committed to continuing. We should see ourselves as custodians not owners of these skills and nurture and value them accordingly.
