We've just listed some gorgeous suzanis for sale on my website. The word suzani comes from the Persian word for needle and these are all traditionally made with silk hand embroidery on hand woven silk and cotton bases. This one is particularly beautiful - whimsical patterns of palm leaves, flowers, hearts, pomegranates and trailing leaves. It would look marvellous on a wall as an artwork in its own right. The others have fish motifs and are enchanting - photos never do textiles like this justice, however hard we try. All available for sale via the Suzanis section of my website.

A lovely visit yesterday morning to the Brunei Gallery @soas_gallery to see "Embroidery Traditions of Afghanistan", an exhibition revealing the rich diversity, skill, and beauty of embroidery from across Afghanistan. The exhibition draws from @karuncollection developed in collaboration with @vamuseum Bravo, Karun, for all that you do. It is free and closes on 19 September so worth a visit. Brightly coloured embroidery is characteristic of this area - it helped me identify some textiles that I have in my private collection. There is a white Turkmen chyrpy on display - rather than a bucket list of things to do, I have a list of textiles I'd like to own, and both a white and very rare yellow chyrpy are on it. I recently did an excellent walk round Bloomsbury as part of a small group guided by @londonguidematt - it was interesting to go again around places I now know something about on my way to and from the gallery. Alas, my attempt at the end to get in to see the Bayeux Tapestry was not successful - I have to wait for the next release of tickets in October.

Delighted to see our new Pomona weave in Amethyst/Chalk in @houseandgardenuk magazine's round up of the latest fabrics. Pomona comes in five colour ways and is woven in England.
