A 19th century Uzbek prayer arch suzani composed of four hand woven cotton panels. This kind of suzani was used as bed sheet for the wedding night. The arch (mehrab) is surrounded by pretty flowering motifs hand embroidered in with natural madder and indigo dyed yarns. Backed in a coarsely textured by lovely natural hand woven antique cotton.
 
In antique used condition with imperfections but still beautiful.  
 
It has brass rings on the back so is ready to hang on a pole but it would also look lovely framed.
